Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter (born Holly Hunter) is an American actress and producer. She is gaining recognition for her stellar performances in films including Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Piano, as well as The Incredibles. Her work has been recognized with numerous awards, including an Oscar for the movie Piano. Her career began as an actor on Broadway and Off Broadway. Passionate about acting since the time she was in school, she portrayed Helen Keller in a play in fifth grade. The mumps caused her to lose hearing in one her ears, but this didn't stop the actress from following her dreams. As a young woman she took classes in drama at the college level and then moved from Pittsburgh to New York City from Pittsburgh to pursue her ambitions. In a chance encounter she was stuck in an elevator alongside playwright Beth Henley and the two joined forces to create the Broadway Crimes of the Heart that made Hunter's debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was found for her in Swing Shift. Her work spans over 30 years and she's appeared in numerous TV shows, films and series. Holly Hunter is a Hollywood Walk of Fame star and she has won Women in Film Lucy Award.
